When people saw him walking down the halls of the busy school, they would try anything to avoid meeting his gaze, and some stare with disgust. Of course he knew all of this. He is Hanamiya Makoto. One of the uncrowned kings who played more ruthlessly. Everyone disapproved of his way of playing, but he could care less. Nobody told him what and how to play. He played by his own rules.

When asked, people would somehow always end up with the same answer of what they saw in Hanamiya. They saw a massive dark aura that surrounded him and a menacing look in his hooded olive eyes. The way he treated people was disgusting. He never had an ounce of kindness in his never existing heart. And the only thing he cared about was his pride. Never showing weakness. Talking to him, people always felt intimidated. Even more when they saw him play basketball.

The conclusion is people hated him.

But no one never really got close to him. No one ever became friends with him. People just judged him by look. Thinking about the fact of getting to know him never crossed anyone’s mind.

Anyone’s, but (names).

Her way of thinking was different from others.

Her way of thinking was unique. She never saw any bad in Hanamiya.

She only saw sorrow.

The cold emptiness on the inside, masked by the his pride and smugness.

She saw right trough him.

The story of the two of them was very special. It was one of a kind.

It all started when her first school year at Kirisaki Dai Ichi started. As said, she was a first year. She never really expected anything knew to happen. Everyday would be the same to her. Go to class, eat lunch and go home. Never has it occurred to her to make friends. No one was ever worth it. She thought that everyone was dull and boring. And nobody ever wanted to be friends with her. The reason for how she treated people. With ice cold ruthlessness. She never minded that people didn’t like her. She was better off alone. Her mind was changed after the faithful day she met the uncrowned king.

The early morning sun shone in her eyes as she made her way trough the front door of the school. The fact was that she was late. The class already started, which she didn’t want to interrupt, so making the decision, she wandered the school. Wanting to know more rooms and halls she could hide in when she had lunch. And so she took off. It had been 20 minutes as she found another dead end of another long hallway. This was getting annoying. She hadn’t found any empty room. And this was the fifth time she was at a dead end. Her hopes were back as she noticed a metal door by her right side. Crossing her fingers for it to be opened, she walk to it, putting her pale hand on the knob. It seems like luck was on her side. The door slid opened by a push. Never had she imagined she would end up outside. Bit she preceded anyway. Ahead of her was the gym. Disappointed, she turned back but decided not to when she heard squeaking of shoes. Who would be in the gym this early in the morning she thought to herself. Taking off running to the double doors of the gym, a smile threw on her face. She didn’t know why. But what she would find in the gym got her excided. With a spark of energy left, she kicked the door open as hard as she could, wanting to scare the shit of the person who was inside. Her smile faded as her (e/c) met cold raven. The owner of the eyes was standing in front of the dressing room door. She took a quick scan of his appearance. The first thing she noticed was how tall he was. Much taller then her. But she was a short little girl. Which pissed her off to no extend. Black hair draped over his face slightly above his shoulders. He wore a Kirisaki Daichi jersey uniform. By the basketball he had under his arm, she assumed he played basketball. Well with his height why wouldn’t he? But the main thing that caught her eye was his eyebrows. Like, what the actual fuck. Who would want have eyebrows like that?!

Those kind of eyebrows should be illegal.

"What are you staring at you midget?"

(Name) was brought back from her thoughts at the sudden question, noticing a frown made it’s way on his pale face.

"Those eyebrows should be illegal. "

She exclaimed calmly. Hus twitched. He didn’t like her already.

"Who are you to tell me you gnome? Go back to the garden where you belong. "

It was (names) turn to twitch. There goes her sudden interest for the guy. But she had a feeling she should continue her conversation, for she always gave up on talking to people she lost interest in. Biting back a rather mean comment she kept her cool.

"May I ask what your name is? I would gladly appreciate it if you gave it to me. "

She gave him a closed eye smile. His frown turned in to a glare. He knew feign innocence when he saw it, and this girl was polling it off quite perfectly. Deciding, he would play along with her act. Glare changed in to a sweet smile.

"Why of course. How impolite of me. My name is Hanamiya Makoto. "

He waited. For what exactly? The frightened expression she would make after hearing who he was. But it never came. The short girl’s smile only widened.

"Nice to meet you Makoto-kun. My name is (name) (lastname)."

Hanamiya twitched at the call of his first name. No one ever called him like that. And now this girl just called him by it without a sight of fear? She was getting……….

Annoying.

"You don’t know who I am, do you? "

She noticed his voice changed from polite to menacing. That made her smile even more. A sly smirk to exact. She was enjoying this.

"Who ARE you supposed to be? Some kind of superstar? If you were, you would do something about those eyebrows. "

Putting her hands on her hips, she judged her hip out. Making fun of him was fun! After a moment she felt her body being pushed against the wall, his body shadowing hers. Both of his hands on either side of her head. His head coming closer to her left ear. She knew better then to let her cool down, so she stayed put with a passive face.

"Don’t underestimate me you pipsqueak. I can make you cry, beg, plead. I am your worst nightmare. I will crush your puny little pride in a matter of seconds. So next time, think twice before making me mad. "

He pulled away after that, making his way to the boy’s dressing room. (Name) was stunned. Never has she expected him to say something like that. Hate to say it, she really felt scared. But, she also felt sadness. Not knowing why, she dismissed it when the bell for the end of the class rang. Looking back at the dressing room door, she made her way back to her next class. Her mind replying what he said.

It was lunch time, and (name) decided to ask around about Hanamiya Makoto. Looking for her friend that actually wanted to hang with her, she found her way in the cafeteria. Why was this place so crowded? This is why she eight lunch in an empty classroom. Pushing people out of her way was hard. Mainly because people didn’t see her. But now she was getting pretty irritated.

"EVERYBODY. MOVE OUT OF MY FUCKING WAY. "

Yelling at the top of her lungs hurt. But it did work. People scurried out of the way for you, as you made big and fast steps to you friend’s table where she sat with her other friends. Spotting her, you walked up to her table and slammed your hands beside her tray of food. Every ones eyes went to look at you.

"Who is Hanamiya Makoto? "

The answer was simple. But everyone hesitated to answer it. Finally your friend did.

"He is the captain of the Kirisaki Dai Ichi basketball team. He is also known as one of the uncrowned kings. "

(Name) raised an eyebrow.

"Who they? "

"Do you know who the Generation of Miracles are? "

"Yeah. They are those rainbow boys that are so good at basketball nobody could beat them. "

"Well the uncrowned kings are the same, it’s just that they are second after the Generation of Miracles."

"So you are saying that if the generation of miracles didn’t exist, the uncrowned kings would replace them? "

(Name) asked with a raised eyebrow. Not noticing a shadow looming behind her.

"That’s right. And Hanamiya…"

The girl suddenly went silent. Noticing her eyes were staring at something behind her, she turned on her heel. Her neck hurt for she had to look up to see who the person was. Very pissed they interrupted her talk. “Oh, it’s you. ” Her voice held venom and her face grew from questionable to a glare as the raven haired man stood in front of her.

"Aren’t you happy to see me? "

He brought his head down to meet her gaze. Suddenly, (name) bit back the comment she thought of as she stared directly in to his olive eyes. Her heart suddenly clenched in her chest.

How does he do it? He is so confident in himself yet, why do I see in him such loneliness?

"Not gonna talk? Ran out of stupid comebacks to try an insult me? Pathetic. "

Hanamiyas smirk turned in to one of disgust. Deciding he was done wasting his time with this pathetic kinder gardener, he trudged out of the cafeteria. (Name) was left speechless. Never had it occurred to her that a person like him would be so corrupted. So depressed. Something in her grew. A foreign feeling. A feeling of wanting to help him. She felt the need to be his sunshine after a rainy day. She wanted to make him feel wanted. The one thing she never felt in her entire life. Maybe that’s why. Maybe that’s the reason she wanted to help him. To not feel the way she does? But she knew a person like him would never admit it. A person like him never wanted to be week in someone else’s presence. But, you don’t know until you try. Her feet started running after him, wanting to catch up. She bursts trough the door of the cafeteria her gaze meeting an empty hallway. Shit. Where did he go? (Name) thought to herself, fastly deciding she would need to check everywhere. But the crack in that plan was the school was too big and she didn’t have much time until the bell for the start of class rang. Sighing, she gave up. Her thoughts ran wild, thinking why she would want to help such an egoistical jerk. (E/c) eyes looked at the watch on her wrist. Class isn’t going to start for another 15 minutes. Crossing her fingers, she made her way to the main staircase that led straight to the roof, having hope for it to be unlocked. Climbing two steps at a time, she wanted to get up there as fast as she could. Breathing heavily, her hands on her knees, she closed her eyes calming her beating heart down. She wasn’t much of a sports person. And P.E. doesn’t count, for all she does is just run aimlessly around the school. Purposely getting lost until it was the end of class. Opening her eyes, she was met with a metal rusty door. It looks like nobody used it for years. Walking up to it, she put her right hand on the knob, pushing the door open. A cold breeze met her warm face, sending chills down her spine. Why was it so cold? She questioned, but non the less made her way on to the roof. The and thing she loved most when she came up here, was the view. It was great for relaxing and straight up thinking. On her face was plastered a warm smile. Her pace was slow. As she was walking on to the roof, looking for a place she could sit. Turning a corner her eyes met a stretched out body, laying on the ground.

Her eyes widened as she recognized the form that was on the ground. Hanamiya laid, eyes closed and his head resting on his book bag. His hands were placed on his stomach. She could see him slightly clutching it as he made a grimace. (name ) was confused for a second. She tilted her head to the side with a raised eyebrow. And then it all suddenly clicked.

Maybe he didn’t have lunch yet.

Fishing for her homemade bento in her book bag, she pulled it out along with a pair of chopsticks. She wasn’t a generous person, but something in her heart made her act so kindly towards the asshole of a person called Hanamiya.

Hanamiya knew she was there. And he calmly waited for her to leave the roof so he could enjoy his nap for a while longer. But he frowned as he heard the girls footsteps come closer to his form that lay on the cold concrete ground. He cracked one eye open to see the action the girl has partaken in.

His eyes slightly widen as he saw her but a bento beside his head.

"Um, I think that you haven’t eaten yet. And I am not quite hungry so I will generously give you my lunch."

The girl was now crouching beside him, her face not showing any emotion as she finished her little speech. Hanamiya could only ‘tch’ for he didn’t have the time to deal with this girl’s nonsense.

But at the last minute he did a double take. This girl had the courage to come up to him. This girl even gave him her lunch for today. Maybe this girl was a different story then the others. And he wanted to read all of it.

A smirk made its way on his face. He pushed himself up by his arms, his eyes still closed as the girl stared at him in slight confusion. Hanamiya then looked at the girl with hooded eyes.

"I will accept your gift. Only if you share it with me."

And the girl could only smile as she sat beside him taking the bento and putting it on her lap. She grabbed the chopstick taking a small peace of food and raising it up to Hanamiya, as to feed him. And he gladly took the peace of food in his mouth.

And then the girl smirked.

"Gladly"
This was it.This was here chance to become closer to the badboy she now fed her lunch too. As Hanamiya closed his eye in satisfaction, the girl held a gentle smile on her face. ‘Someday, I will be the reason your loneliness faded away.’
